Transforming Everyday Features into Personalized Art

Here is a selection of before-and-after photographs. I’ve captured architectural details or unique features like a mural and then stylized them to create a more distinct and personalized image. The following images are examples of my work, which I’ve altered to make logos for websites and a Christmas Card. You can swipe the arrows to see the before and after versions.

Merging Coding, Photography, and Design

In the early 2000s, I learned to code websites and use Photoshop, which led me to take my own photographs. What began as a necessity grew into a fascination with pairing words and images. Over time, I developed my photography skills alongside my writing.

Most images here are my own, featured in websites I’ve designed or personal collections. Click on the pictures to view each portfolio.

Capturing Life, Not Stock

Pictures Captured from Real Life for Relatable Content

I use snapshots as featured images for my posts, capturing real moments that reflect the essence of my stories. Unlike stock images, which feel artificial and idealized, these photos bring authenticity and relatability. I believe websites should represent genuine experiences, not sanitized corporate visuals. Using real-life imagery keeps my content human and grounded, avoiding the dehumanizing effect of overly polished pictures. That’s why I choose to showcase the ordinary, relatable life through the images we all take and share.
